A Girl in an Orange Suit Met Jodi Picoult

What a thrill to meet Jodi Picoult at The Newcastle Con last week.

Jodi talked about her latest novel By Any Other Name.

I loved this novel, it goes between the 1500’s and the present day and poses the question…what if William Shakespeare didn’t actually write all his plays? What if a woman wrote some of them??

Apparently a lot of the places that Shakespeare set his plays in, he hadn’t even been too( but was able to describe in exact detail!!), he wrote about female feelings very well…but most telling of all- he had never taught his daughters how to read or write, they signed their names with an X….this is a fact I just can’t let go of!!

Jodi was so generous with her time, on stage ,and I even got to ask a question about the maid in the book….and was so excited to have my book signed.

For someone who loves all things to do with past history this book was just amazing!!…and I can totally see this one as a movie!!
